میں اس شہر کی قسم کھا تا ہو ں

اور آپ اس شہر میں مقیم ہیں

اور قسم ہے انسا نی با پ اور اولا د کی

یقینا ہم نے انسا نق ں کو بڑی مشقت میں پیدا کیا

کیا یہ گما ن کرتا ہے کہ کسی کے بس میں نہیں ؟

کہتا پھر تا ہے کہ میں نے تو بہت کچھ ما ل خر چ کر ڈالا ہے

کیا یو ں سمجھتا ہے کہ کسی نے اسے دیکھا نہیں

کیا ہم نے اس کی دو آنکھیں نہیں بنا ئیں

اور زبا ن اور ہونٹ نہیں بنا ئے

ہم نے دیکھا  دیئے اس کو دو راستے

سو اس سے نہ ہو سکا کہ گھا ٹی میں داخل ہو تا

اور کیا سمجھا کہ گھا ٹی ہے کیا

کسی گر دن کو آزاد کرنا

یا بھو ک والے دن کو کھا نا کھلا نا

کسی رشتے دار یتیم کو

یا خا کسار مسکین کو

پھر اس لوگو ں میں سے ہوجاتا ہے جو ایما ن لاتے اور ایک دوسرے کو صبر کر نے کی اور رحم کرنے کی وصیت کر تے ہیں

یہ ہی لو گ ہیں دائیں با زو وا لے

اور جن لو گو ں نے ہما ری آیتو ں کے ساتھ کفر کیا یہ کم بختی والے ہیں

انہی پر آگ ہو گی جو چا رو ں طر ف سے گھیری ہو گی

Surah Balad With English Translation

I swear by this city

And you live in this city

And by the oath of mankind, father and children

Indeed, We created mankind with great effort

Does it assume that no one can afford it?

He says again that I have spent a lot of money

Does he think that no one has seen him?

Did We not make him two eyes?

And the tongue and lips were not made

We saw it in two ways

So it was not possible to enter the gorge

And what did you think that it was a mistake?

To liberate a fallen day

Or not to eat on a day of hunger

To a relative orphan

Or to the destitute

Then he becomes of those who believe and command one another to be patient and merciful.

These are the right-wing people

And those who disbelieved in Our verses, those are the wretched

There will be fire on those who will be surrounded by all sides
